Blackjack Help Window
Bust: Either the player or the dealer have exceeding twenty-one with the value of the cards showing.
Push: There is a tie between the value of player’s cards and the value of the dealer's cards. The money bet is returned, and neither the player nor the dealer gains or losses anything.
Blackjack: A player or dealer will get blackjack when one card is an ace and the other has the value of a ten. When a blackjack is acquired, the player gets paid 1.5 times what he bet.
Soft: A hand is soft if an ace has the value of eleven. The player’s options are either hitting or standing.
Hit: A hit is a request for more cards. When the dealer "hits" the player, he simply gives the player another card.
Stand: Standing is when the player stops taking any additional cards. The player is happy with the value of their cards and he/she thinks they have a chance at beating the dealer or that he/she may have a chance at busting by obtaining another card.
Double-Down: The player doubles his or her bet and receives one additional card. It is suggested that the player double down on nine, ten, or eleven.
Split: By splitting, a player doubles his bet and splits two identical cards, creating two hands instead of one.
